78 Republicans

Did you know that Missouri has a maternal mortality rate that is 43.2% higher than the national average?*

Did you know that the national average for maternal mortality is the worst in the industrialized world?*

I want to change this. Last week, I introduced a bill on the House floor that would establish a maternal mortality review board, to look at why women are dying from pregnancy and childbirth at such high numbers.^ The head of DHSS supports this legislation, as do a number of nonprofit organizations that work for women’s reproductive health. This bill is good policy.

78 Republicans voted against this bill.

These votes are unconscionable. Nobody loses by creating a maternal mortality review board, but it could do so much good for the health of the state, and for the health of women.

We need elected officials who will support women’s healthcare. That’s why I am asking you to support my campaign. Please make a donation of $25, $50, or $100 to help me for my re-election to the Missouri House. Your donation will help me continue to support women.
